Job Purpose: You are focused and supportive leader who directs and participates in the daily activities and organization of summer day camp sessions for children. You contribute to a culture of improvement and a culture of why.
Schedule: Full Time - Monday-Friday 8:30am-4:30pm, June 3-August 19 + 2 days additional camp lead training
Location: All Locations - Woodbury, St. Paul, Golden Valley, Coon Rapids
What you will be doing:
Leadership - Own outcomes, work collaboratively, and hold yourself and the team accountable.
Relationship Building - Enthusiastically greet children and guardians. Provide guardians with appropriate feedback and information regarding camp and their camper(s). Act as a liaison to the camps' host site.
Education - Responsible for leading or supervising the teaching of lessons and activities.
Continuous Improvement - Manage and participate in the implementation of program activities. Ensure intended camper outcomes are met.
Support - Provide support to summer camp program including maintenance of supplies, camp records, and post camp wrap-up. Participate in bi-weekly camp lead meetings and implementation of staff training.
Culture - Foster an open and inclusive work environment by modeling AHS's Behaviors, consistent with the vision and mission of the organization. Maintain safe work environment by following AHS protocols and policies. Work with AHS volunteers in a positive and effective way to facilitate meaningful volunteer engagement.

What we are looking for:
Schedule - Regular, predictable attendance, punctuality and availability to work during camp operations hours as defined by management
Experience - Experience leading or a strong desire to lead. Proven experience working with groups of children.
Adaptability - Ability to work in a professional and positive manner with high attention to detail in a variety of situations
Communication - Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, must have ability to work as a member of the team and partner collaboratively with external and internal customers and departments.
Physical & Emotional Capabilities - Must be able to handle the physical and emotional aspect of work in an animal shelter environment, including the use of euthanasia.
