This is a place where you can find a career with meaningful purpose improving lives through your life's work.About This Role:This is a unique opportunity for a highly capable experienced engineer and/or supervisor to leverage their broad engineering and business skill sets as they identify, scope, and lead manufacturing initiatives that take the business to the next level in terms of bringing forward next generation manufacturing technologies, transferring new products to manufacturing, driving strategic insourcing, and supporting production excellence. Supervises, leads, and provides technical direction to a group of technicians and/or engineers. Devotes a significant portion of time contributing to the technical responsibilities of the department. This fast-paced role is responsible for the Battery and Cathode Manufacturing areas, which utilize complex robotics and automation to build and assemble batteries. Your Responsibilities Include:Assists manager in providing guidance and training to staff, developing subordinates to attain career goals, motivating individuals to achieve results, and recruiting and maintaining a high-quality staff.Works with manager to establish department goals, objectives, and budgets.Assists manager to plan resource needs and hiring for department.Prioritizes and manages execution of multiple projects.Successfully completes manufacturing engineering project work on Value Improvement Process (VIP), Strategic Activity Review (STAR) projects, or new product development.Leads technician and/or engineering teams to the successful completion of project goals.Maintains and enhances cross-functional team relationships.Works cross-functionally in identifying and resolving production/engineering issues.Ensures policies and processes are followed.Represents manufacturing engineering in new product development teamsResponsible for the driving improved equipment and process performance including yield, uptime, and cycle time improvementsSupervises employees across multiple shifts What We're Looking For:Basic QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Engineering, preferably mechanical, or Manufacturing engineeringMinimum 3-5 years of engineering experienceMust have practical understanding of manufacturing problem solving and process improvement tools such as DMAIC and production flow tools such as LEAN manufacturing.Must be able to communicate effectively, by analyzing, summarizing, and presenting ideas concisely via visual communication methods i.e. tables, graphs, Visio diagrams, and PowerPoint presentationMust be able to quickly prioritize production issues, develop and execute tactical action plans Preferred QualificationsMedical device industry experienceProject management experienceOne year minimum of supervisory experience preferredDemonstrated leadership of problem solving in a Production support role Experience in complex manual assembly operationsPurpose and Passion Comprehensive Benefits Life-Work Integration Community Career GrowthAt Boston Scientific, you will find a collaborative culture driven by a passion for innovation that keeps us connected on the most essential level.
